Radiography is a mainstay of the NDT industry. Advancements in capture methods, e.g. film vs digital, provide many options to meet our clients needs. MTMagnetic Particle Testing (MT), also referred to as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a very reliable method for detecting surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as carbon steel. Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) technology has grown exponentially over the past several years with several techniques being separated out into stand-alone methods. Conventional UT such as UT thickness, straight beam flaw detection and angle-beam examination are the mainstays of the UT examination playbook while advanced techniques such as Phased Arrays and TOFD grow ever more popular. Corrosion investigation, material quality, weld examination are all commonly performed with one or more of the listed techniques.

Guided Wave UT

Guided Wave UT (GWUT) or Long Range UT has quickly become the go-to method for examination of insulated  or buried piping and inaccessible pipeline sections such as cased crossings. Under ideal conditions, very long sections of pipe can be investigated from a single location. Simply avoiding the necessity of removing insulation or digging up large sections of pipe makes GWUT a very desirable and affordable alternative.

Leak Testing

Leak Testing consists of several different sub-methods and techniques designed for specific applications. Pressure Change testing and Bubble Leak testing are two of the most commonly used. Crossbridge has personnel certified to ASNT Level III in Leak Testing to help you select the best method and technique for your application, develop procedures, provide training and qualify procedures. Our Level II personnel can provide Bubble Leak or Pressure Change testing of valves, vessels, piping or components.

Visual Testing

OD micVisual testing is the oldest and one of the most broadly applied inspection methods today. Direct visual examination of welds, components or equipment is commonly utilized to verify weld surface quality, ensure procedure compliance, perform dimensional verification, or inspect for corrosion/damage. Advanced techniques such as remote viewing devices can be used to examine areas not accessible for normal visual examination. We also have AWS- Certified (CWI) and Senior Certified Welding Inspectors (SCWI) for welding inspection and welding program services.

Materials Testing

There are several "testing" methods that while associated with the quality effort, and often performed by NDT personnel, they are not yet addressed as NDT methods. Hardness testing, Positive Material Identification (PMI), Ferrite Content testing and other specialized material tests are available.
